Welcome to SEBM | Integrating Science and Medicine

2015 Annual Meeting: Training the Mind of an Interdisciplinary Scientist
Sunday March 29, 2015 9:45AM

Session Chairs: H. Rex Gaskins, Warren Zimmer

Our symposium Training the Mind of an Interdisciplinary Scientist will focus on how to best prepare trainees to gain command of diverse biomedical disciplines, leadership qualities, communication skills and how to work in teams. There is no question that biomedical science and translational research have reached a stage where advances are dependent on merger among established disciplines. Our goal is to become the go-to society for trainees who will become the new generation of interdisciplinary scientists. We have an excellent line up of speakers and hope the new time slot will boost attendance.

How Can We Help You Succeed?

We are a non-profit scientific society that promotes investigation in the biomedical sciences, enables career success of our members and fosters the career development of students, physician-scientists and new investigators. We accomplish this goal through publication of a peer-reviewed Journal, Experimental Biology and Medicine and cultivating a broad range of international social and research-centered events throughout the year.

Are you looking for career guidance?  Want to give back to your community of colleagues by engaging in SEBM Outreach events? Get Involved!

Activate your subscription to 100 years of articles from Experimental Biology and Medicine, the SEBM journal.

Articles represent cutting edge research as the overlapping junctions of the biological, physical and engineering sciences that impact on the health and welfare of the world's population.

President's Address

H. Rex Gaskins
These are exceptionally exciting times for the SEBM! Integration of multiple disciplines is now the norm for biomedical science. With its mission of fostering the development of trainee and early career scientists, the SEBM has great potential to shape the future of science and medicine. As such, you can see that numerous new initiatives are now underway.
